Just had a bit more of a play with various 300 transaxles and it appears that the 340 four speed has a solid pinion which couples to the gbox mainshaft with an internally splined sleave
Another option to make the conversion would be to use a 240 gearbox end plate to seal the 300 gbox and fit a ...
