Probably should have given the full story from the 'off' but I have slowly been gathering parts to convert to 2.3 turbo.

Donor 2.3 turbo I've sourced is either a B230FK or B230FT that appears to have a "531" head (not 100% sure as I don't have it in my grubby mits yet).

Came out of an N plate 940 ...

For parts that need welder's attention; the front is the main problem. Other areas are NSF sill, holes in bulkhead/firewall in both front wheelarches, rear wheelarch / sills need doing properly (previous repairs by another that I am not happy with :roll:), pinholes in some doors, oh and a strange ...

Poor old girl has now been sitting for a few months while other things (like moving & sorting new house) got in the way :oops:

I don't have the skills to do the welding & my brother (who does) doesn't have the time so I'm going to have to 'through money at the problem' :shock:

Why fit the turbo head as other than the sodium filled valves the heads are the same.

As per the title really ... anyone know if the B200 can be bored out & B230 pistons fitted to create a 2.3l?

From what I've found through searching, the capacity difference between B200 and B230 is just in the bore diameter. So is it as 'easy' as getting the ...

Just out of MOT now though & needs work

Have gone from 80K odd to 150K+ miles in three years

Averages over 36 MPG including quite a lot of towing

Not really sure I have any authority to do so but there was some support & I (like some here) am of the opinion that, even if Regulation from this EU proposal is some way off, now is the time to speak up!

Well the re-filled engine mounts seem to be working. Little bro has refitted them and done a few miles so far.
Exhaust is still grating but think this is because it hasn't been moved to account for new (higher ) engine position!

Update:

She's not been my daily driver for a few weeks as the engine mounts properly 'bottomed out'. I've been 'planning' to sort them out for ages so this weekend I got on with it at last.

There is mixed information about filling 360 engine mounts with Sikaflex so I thought others might be ...

I'm getting a pretty reliable 30mpg-ish around town too, keeping off boost. More miles per mellons than the valver, that's for certain.

Interestingly it seems to be doing almost mid-way between the mpg figures for my old 940 SE Turbo estate (average 25 on petrol, 24 on lpg) and the 360 GLT ...
