That should be fine - as I say it's not too far to Heathrow. If you want to insure the car in advance the reg is C147 BYH. You know the rest - Volvo 340 GL 1.4, Blue, 1985, 5 door.

Not too tricky from Heathrow - half an hour in to Hammersmith on the piccadilly line and then one stop back.

My car's a darker blue than the one in the pic. I just tried to get a reference off google with no luck and have to leave the office now...

Pretty near Heathrow - about 15 miles I guess. Basically the M4 comes into west london and becomes the A4 and I'm about a mile off that. 25 miutes without traffic I'd say.

Sorry, my mistake it's a 5 door hatchback, not a 4 door saloon. Thanks fo the tip on the volvoclub forums - I'll stick a post on there too

There's a little rust on the sills of the rear doors (she's a 4-door btw), other than that pretty good I think.

yep I think it still happens with the choke out as I have had to start it with full choke recently on frosty mornings and I'm sure it was still doing it...

I'd say it's the opposite - worse when the engine is idling but not so noticeable with a bit of throttle.

PS I'm not sure if 'knocking' is the right word, but from a layman's point of view it feels like there's a couple of rocks kicking round the bottom end!

Hello All,

I have a 340 GL 1.4 (1985) that has sadly developed some engine knocking that I cannot fix.

Could be good for spares or as a cheap car for someone who knows how to fix these things (i'm not particularly savvy mechanically).

Car has MOT til May and Tax until June. Last recorded mileage ...
