Re: New Sticker

.......Its eager enough if you punt it in 2 then switch to D at 40ish. Very good at motorway cruising Tom, youre spot on there. Unbeliveably comfy too. Better still if you remember the switch (on the side of the gear selector knob) that puts the four speed auto into 4th.... IIRC, these have ...

Re: Same old B14 VArio running probs (again)

Do that man, I don't normally offer this sort of after-sales service  but I'm determined to help you with getting that little car running as well as it did during my custodianship of it.

Re: I broke my car because im stupid.

Well, this afternoon, out came the plugs for a compression test as a first check for obvious washer-related damage. I took a photo to show the reading on the gauge but failed to save it to the SD card in the phone  so you'll need to believe this: All four cylinders read within less than 1% of ...

Re: I broke my car because...

....That was probably on the suggestion of yourself Ivan, or was it Mr Hoppy?...... 'Twas your idea mate; you had, in fairness to yourself, been doing some work on one of my cars and were "tired" sm34 so you thrust a gallon of 20w50 and a filter in my direction and said "get out there and do some w...

Re: I broke my car because...

...I turned the stereo up to drown out the rattly bottom end. ...I ignored the oil pressure warning light and kept going at motorway speeds. ...... Oh yes, now you come to mention that! And you even had me change the oil in that brown kitten before you set off on its final journey, li...

Re: 1988 Vari-Ho - More Engine Problems *23.07.10*

Could you have overfilled it? Very important that you pull the hose at the first click, or the breather system (that plastic tank with loads of hoses attached) will be full of petrol and that may possibly explain the stink, if not the mysterious running problem. Are you certain it's an air leak thou...

Re: 1988 Vari-Ho - More Engine Problems *23.07.10*

Chris, there are only two studs securing that filter pan, the third has had its hole blocked to stop it leaking so the pan was mounted in a way that would allow it, rather than the carb, to move slightly and it worked like that. There isn't the bracket at the back of the rocker cover on these late c...
