Heater fan resistor pack
Does anyone have a heater fan resistor pack/unit thingy, I've got bored with trying to work out what's wrong with mine! We've checked and cleaned it and although it appears to be in reasonable condition, it just will not work. The fan works fine when run direct off the battery, but as soon as you tr...

My next job is to check and probably replace the oil in the primary and secondary transmission units Hi Sion, this job is much easier with some sort of sqeezy-bottle-with-short-tube-in-the-top arrangement (which we didn't have) as both filler holes can be quite awkward to get to especially as the c...

I would be very grateful for a set of vario grills if they're still available? I have solid ones on my vario, so think they need changingTom do you want some vario grills? got a spare set if you want to purchase them.

I shoud probably pop the plain ones out to get some air through there!

Dear All, I just wanted to say a thank you to those who've offered advice and also congratulate you on a brilliantly informative forum, without which I don't think we would have ever got this car back on the road! It's a 1986 door 340DL Auto (so has stayed very true to the original DAF design) with ...

Re: CVT Hell... I really don't want to play any more now...
Thanks for all your help. Looks like the leak is from the oil seal between the drive shaft and gearbox. Taken it all apart and just need to find something to prise the blighter out with. Then new oil seal and gasket and hopefully all will be well again

Re: CVT Hell... I really don't want to play any more now...
Your right...maybe I won't give up on it just yet. At least I have a good idea what all the noise was about. I think they must be the original 25 year old belts on it. There does still appear to be some oil inside the gearbox as well as outside, so hopefully there's no serious internal damage. Need ...

CVT Hell... I really don't want to play any more now...
Just removed the cover from my CVT and there's lots of oil around the secondary unit but worst on the driver's side (belts have also had it and the driver's side one even has a tooth missing!). Could any one advise whether (realisticly) this combined with the very noisy drive (not surprising given w...

HELP! CVT clutch shims required
Hello All, I've checked the auto clutch gap and the shims that are currently in there. I measured the clearance gap as 1.2 and I have 2x1.5 (3mm) shims in there at the mo. According to my calculations I need a total of 2.2mm of shimmage in there for a 0.4mm gap? Some guidance says a gap of 2mm + or ...
