Help Required.

Recently purchased a very clean and tidy vario see thread http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/volvo-340-360-f1463.htm

now when I went out to move it today, I am having to REALLY rev it to get it to move, and there is a smell of burning clutch.

How much work is involved in ...

Yeah that was the colour. only it had a nice quantity of brown spots as well, RUST.........

This isnt the first one I have had, it is actually the third.

The first one was a very early one (cant remember the year) but it was bright yellow, and an absolute dog, nothing worked properly on it, so I brought another, this time a nice blue D reg one, this was an absolute dream, 1.7 leccy ...

Well for that, It would've been rather funny for you to drive off in the vario after a few taps on the starter from his place

Yeah I should have realy, just to see his face drop..........

No the car was at an independant car sales place, and up until saturday night, tucked around the back out of sight of public (too old to be on show amongst his 'respectable' cars (his words not mine))

Thanks all.

I have sent a nice polite (grovelling) letter to the previous owner, praising him on how well he has kept the car for 21 years, and enquiring if he has any other paperwork including service bills, MOT's etc to back up the mileage. Just got to see if he replies.

As I said before, I ...

yeah. wasnt me, thank god :)
