Re: Suspension Legs

OK Dai, I'd much rather see someone get some life out if it than see it go to waste.

I remember seeing the cups last time, but same situation as Bogbasic - got told that it was no good. Glad to hear that isn't the case!

Re: T-piece Connector for Cooling(/Heating?) system

Thanks for the responses and information about the B14 T, even if that isn't what I need - it's good to know for the future. I might be wrong, but I think one of the hoses attached to the T-piece does go to the expansion tank. So if older 1.7's had two different pieces, does the fact mine is one of ...

Re: Suspension Legs

Thanks both, nice to finally know for sure. Seems it got mis-labelled.

Fortunately, I managed to find a replacement already. Good to know there's still spares about for the future though.
Speaking of which, is the strut with the rusted cup useful to anybody, or just scrap?

T-piece Connector for Cooling(/Heating?) system

Hello, Recently, I had a leaky hose in the cooling system (I think) and unfortunately, while the mechanic was trying to fix that a plastic t-piece connecting three hoses crumbled. One of the hoses goes to the cylinder head, the other to the expansion tank and the third I think goes to the heater. I'...

Re: Suspension Legs

Apologies that a reply to this has been a long time coming - my son has been away at university and so I've had to wait for him to be able to add photos. Here is an album of images, including the strut with no hole and the strut that was removed from my car: http://imgur.com/a/bUtLP . Hopefully this...

Re: Suspension Legs

Sorry, I didn't make myself very clear. I'd seen other posts about welding cups on, but I meant in particular reference to my strut once I get pictures uploaded, which should be around Monday/Tuesday.

Suspension Legs

Hello, I'm on the hunt for a suspension leg for my 340. I finally got hold of one, but apparently there's no space for the speedometer cable. Could someone talk me through how to recognise the different suspension legs so I make sure I get the right one this time? Also, I talked to the garage about ...

Re: 340 1.7 GL Front Shock Absorber Struts

Thanks for the replies. I made sure I had a good look around the forum before posting, so I saw about the cups. It's hard for me to see under the car because of how it's collapsed (hence no pictures). Going on what my mechanic said, I'm fairly certain the strut itself is rusted through, but I'll get...

340 1.7 GL Front Shock Absorber Struts

The front passenger side strut on my 340 has rusted through (and the driver side one is on the way out). I'm not the most technical of people, but the guy who runs my local garage will fix it if I can get the parts. So with that in mind, I'm hoping someone here has a pair of front struts floating ar...
