I checked spark on coil itself and there is no spark, but there is something weird because I used light bulb one time and it was flicking (instead of coil). You appear to have diagnosed your problem - if you are measuring 1500 ohms accross the Renix unit coil contacts it does indeed suggest a faulty unit - rare but not unknown (obviously ensure the contacts are perfectly clean).
