I've checked both the vacuum system parts under the car and the EMV itself in accordance with the CVT diagnostic manual, but I've stopped short of checking the electrics as I don't own a multimeter. Update - all is well again! Well, almost. The car performed without issue this morning on my way to work, but the high-revving symptoms briefly resurfaced on the return journey. Update - all is well again! It turns out he'd omitted to re-connect some pipes that he took apart during the service. He was apologetic and sorted it all out, free of charge. I'm properly glad it wasn't the clutch.

I'm well chuffed with the car now, it feels really fresh after it's full service.

Rang him today, and it's going back in tomorrow morning. Let's just see how that goes...
