Took my "new" Vario to a DAF Club Germany meet on the Saturday after Christmas. Was pretty cool, I reckon I saw more DAFs there than in my whole life before ;-)

Some pretty useless pics (mine, not Bennys), mainly due to

#1 lack of photographical talent
#2 poor camera
#3 having to make sure my daughter didn't pull bits of displayed vario apart, drink from wine bottles or stuff her arms in used engine oil.

Was good to meet Pete and James for the first time too :-)

Anyway, here goes:

Pics from the drive up:

Never thought the Mk1 would be the newest car at a meet:

I love those seventies colours and stripes :-)

It's amazing how quickly you can get into varios, a month ago I didn't care much for 'em and now I'm hooked ...

Looks like a great meet. I'd have loved to have gone. Gives me an itch to to go something with one of 66's. Shame they need a lot of work

Much fun was had. I have a stack of pics, but I need to stump some £££ for hosting...
...or do I, now we have attachments available? Hmm...

Pleasure to meet you too, Tom :)

cheers

James

You should come to a V3C meeting, than your nog the only 300 there 340pw

(Infact, if your bored this weekend, come to Eindhoven on Saturday. We are going to the DAF-museum with the V3C. And allready there are 35 singups...!)

Sounds like a cool meet in Eindhoven! But I think I'll be having some fun in the Eifel mountains in the snow tomorrow :-)

It was indeed an excellent meet, quite chilly though, but it was great to meet you at last Tom, and finally put a face to the name!

Some very good pics too, I really liked your 343, sadly I didn't get a great deal of time to look around it properly!

I'm glad you both got back ok that night, despite a slightly interesting time of it!

We covered 1030 miles and I managed to average 26.1 MPG in the end, which I must admit, my heavy right foot didn't help, a fairly brisk cruising speed all the way, and some mountain driving while we were there included, for the T5 I'm happy enough!

I've quite a few pictures which I'll sort out and post some up soon.

Cheers,

Pete

The only English car there was an 850 T5...lurking out of sight in shame at its FWD badness. If it had been summer, I'd have brought a 300 ;)

cheers
