Went out to check the damage and they put the rear door quarterlight panel through, before moving onto the steering column and generally mashing everything under it up. They snapped the cover to pieces, bent choke lever and snapped off the wiper stalk. Luckily the steering lock still works and stuff so its driveable.
The only reason they didn't manage to nick it was that a copper was passing by at the time and saw what they were up to. He managed to catch one of them whos in custody at the moment and they got a good witness description of the other guy. Hoping to see them in court very soon, should it come to that.
I know stuff like this (and worse) happens every day but it's always a shock when it happens to you! Just thought I would try and vent a bit of frustration on here lol.
Also making a bit of a plea to anyone who knows where i can source a new window from. The broken wiper stalk I can deal with for now but am pretty desperate for a new window as I'm supposed to be driving home from uni on Friday.. and can't imagine it would be too fun with a binbag as a window haha
