Pettaw should be able to fill us in on this one, I've never seen one myself in the flesh, but I asked Pettaw on Sunday about it, as he has that type on his 360 GLEi from 1986. I can't remember if he has the heated seats though, but definitely the buttons with the power windows text.

Hold on, I'll just go out to look at my car, but it definitely has the power windows sign, but I thought it had gaps for heated seats.

Back in 5 mins.

The buttons and plate are identical to the one on my 1986 360 GLEi SE, I think its one of the few early ones with electric windows. By 1987, there was probably another facelift and the buttons suddenly have symbols on 'em!

Hope that helps.

I'm really sure that there were heated seats before elec windows in the 300 series. The 1980 343 blue special had a heated driver seat. Back then there weren't elec windows right?

Yep, the early cars didn't have the switches for the heated seats - they used sensors in the seats to tell if a) the seat was occupied and b) if the temp was below 5(?) degrees before they came on.

Much the same arrangement as the early 200's.

Yep, that's right, the 1980 leaflet says the heated seat switches on at a temperature below 14 degrees celsius.

Thanks Hugh

I'd already seen it and shown it to a friend who is now the new owner!
