Nearly shot me load!

I went to my 'local' scrapyard on Mon and Tues and noticed an '83 360GLS.

I notice that the radio had already gone and that there were a couple of period Panasonic speakers in the front door cards. However what nearly caused me to soil my pants happened when I was there yesterday and looked round the car properly:




Unfortunately there was only one speaker in the passenger footwell. (Tightwad first owner having a mono install )

Still, one down, three to go

(I had the aerial base and cable too. I presume the screw in bit is a fairly standard thread?)

If you're as cheap as my local scrappy then possibly. Maybe one will do as the rears I think have the writing at right angles. I don't think they are exclusively 300. They might have used them on the 200?

That is most definitely cool! If you're going to go to the effort of fitting original ICE, you want the speakers too. Having said that, none of my early 300s had Volvo speakers fitted as standard, they were always some standard Grundig / Blaupunkt fare.

The ones to have are the ones which say "high power" on them. Power is relative of course, IIRC these can take 20W rather than 6W

I put those in my old 343 (stolen one) But I had some spares now connected just floating about under the seat in the 340 I must connect up the door speakers and save the old ones for the MK1! I never thought of them as rare but then again I've not tried finding any for......about 15 years I might even have one or two in my spares collection!

I had one in my '81 343. Didn't work though, although I didn't really investigate why. If I ever come across it again you can have it.
