New filter air for 1.7

Post by Tochov » 01 Jan 2006 02:07 pm

Since I put an suitable air filter on my 340 (last own had an very slim filter; and air passed free by top and down), fuel consuption has rised considerable. Is there any kit performance or other car replacement for air filter system for volvo ·$= !:/ with solex?

Are you sure that the carb is now adjusted correctly? It really shouldn't make much of a difference. I'd advise against fitting a performance air filter in isolation, as you'll have to adjust the jets on the carb, and it's more trouble that it's worth.

The only real thing you can adjust which would make a noticable difference (assuming the carb is in good health) is the idle mixture. I'm not sure how to do that on a B172, but I'm sure someone will chime in.
