Spigot rings?

Post by astraboy » 19 Sep 2006 06:46 pm

hi there, I've just fitted 15" vauxhall steel rims on 10mm spacers with extended wheelstuds to my 340.
Only problem is the centre hub is smaller than the bore on the wheel.
Does anyone know where I can get spigot rings for a Volvo hub to a vauxhall bore? I've tried search and have gotten close (someone mentioned calibra rings, but if anyone knows where I can find some then that would be great)
Cheers in advance,
astraboy.

Since you've had no reply....

...I have no idea :( Unless you can measure them both and consult some charts, I'd guess it's time to custom make some.

There are 15" steels available which bolt right on - spares from 400s with 15" alloys - but making up a set of four will probably be tricky.

cheers

If you have a TMC shop near you try them for a fitting kit or phone around places like ripspeed, most places that sell alloys should sell spigot rings, they wont neccessarily be for a volvo as long as the centre bore is right. most 4 stud vauxhalls have a 56.6 centre bore and the volvo has a 52.1 iirc so those are the measurements you need its basically a 4.5 mm thick plastic ring

just had a look at some fitment guides and 52.1 do's seem pretty unique to volvo but you could try here

http://www.priracing.com/product.php?xProd=411

the link is to spacers but in there text it says

Spacer set by Simoni 17mm thick. These universal wheel spacers will fit both 4 and 5 stud with a diameter of

52.1mm up to 72.6mm centre bore. Centre rings are available seperately as seen listed in this section.

however I couldent see a link to the centre rings , you could try ringing them

cheers lads, I'll give em a go.
On the face of it, it looks alright, nice mean stance to it

However, on closer inspection, it would seem to be a problem...

I'll have to get something sorted out, I cant drive it with the entire weight of the car on the wheelstuds, can i?

You could, but I wouldn't, especially not given your intended usage ;)

astraboy.

You do on the rear axle.

I had this dilemma with my 360, now I run all sorts of Mazda and Vaux/Opel rims- 5x100 mile plus road rallies plus general running about-still waiting for one to drop off.
This is just my experience but I'm sure those more in the know will tell me I'm stupid

I know you already have the wheels but it may be cheaper to buy a set of the mentioned volvo 440 steels and get the tires switched over!! If you can find spigot rings to fit IIRC they are quite steep for what they are!!!
