Ahhh, that'd explain it then! LOL, I had to laugh at the feedback, not that it applies to you, as the passenger of the chap who then owned it is to blame. "Superb! Thanks for giving the car a good home! Pleasure doing business! A*A*A*A* " Shame, it was lowish mileage too, nice looking car.

So is your brother making up a load of budget drifters then?
We keep a couple to either sell to someone as a cheap drifter or to use for people to learn in at the track. :)

Yeah I was a bit gutted to see the GLT get ruined cos it had a towbar and was mint inside and out except for the bonnet. Still good for a few spares I guess.

I was gonna ask what was salvageable from the red GLT, as the doors would be nice, if they're not dented, as I need a set in red.

Not a lot gets past us V3M guys on the bay if it's 300 related! So we found the car in the end!

And I can see an idea for a meet forming!

I don't think the doors are dented, it still has the alloys too. But since it's been parked up outside the local 'chavs' have given it the once over so the interior is messy (sunroof open).

I think my brother is just waiting the person who scraps our cars to pick it up. If you were local you could probably pick what you wanted, as my bro is generally too busy to bother stripping the cars for all the parts, and just lets the scrapper take them.

Just out of interest...any idea why? I have no problem at all with giving a wreck an ungraceful send-off, but I'd not trash a car in good condition...not even an Allegro!

Pete - Husky's feature is on his website. It's only a brief column, but good stuff none-the-less.

I think it's our duty to get a mag feature or two for some of the more interesting cars here.

cheers

Well, it'd be criminal to let the alloys go............ and the undented doors if they've managed to survive that ordeal! So, I could manage a trip over at some point if it's only gonna be scrapped!

James, ta for the heads up, I browsed his site before, I must have missed that, or I was there in the early days of the site!

Well, not all of us..... A few know of my recent find on the bay ;)

Come on then Fog's, whose cars would you put up? I'd probably go with Husky's and the white one here....

Tough call. I'd put my own car up if I tidyied the bodywork first, and there are a raft of cars which will be very cool in a year or two.

As it stands....Husky, the DORIFTOOOOO mobile, myself (ah, the cheek), and maybe Vicky's car? Probably Adam's too actually. It kinda depends on the angle they're taking with the feature. There are better retro-look 'stock' cars out there (I'm thinking of Solamanda), but I guess we're looking at modified.

cheers

I think its time the 300 liberation front paid this place a visit lol

( picture the scene , middle of the night ,four or five blokes in camo gear and balaclavas with bolt cuttres and er , um ,tow ropes !! )

On a more serious note

Its a shame your not nearer coz I would be happy to come down a couple of times a week to help strip the cars,

I know storage is a problem for spares but there is money to be made and parts such as headlight wipers , electric windows /mirrors, even high level brake lights are always in demand especially from our european members

its great to see the 300 in any form of motorsport even if it dos end up with them going out in a blaze of glory (RIP sausage )

keep up the good work guys

That's more like it! There's a bit of a following for 300s over at retro rides (ie. a 5 page thread on their forum!?) and they do write some good articles!

I agree. I mean it's good that 300-series gets exposure but when I read that article it seemed that some parts were written by some mentally retarded.. :D Every other word f*ck and s*it. Doesn't give out so professional image of that paper.. ;)

I read mostly Bilsport (a Swedish magazine, lot's of very powerfull Volvos 8) ) and V8-Magazine (Finnish magazine, mainly American cars but occasionally some other too if they're somewhat special, for example these  http://www.multi.fi/~andrnorr/suntech/articles.html That 142 btw. was street legal. It's propably the best car mag I have ever read. Most professional, though it has been around for over 25 years so no wonder)
