[quote="foggyjames"] I've decided (when I've finished my studies) to go and work for a big company - I need the security, and I don't feel the need to step out on my own any more!
Come on a guy with your knowledge , charisma and good looks should have his own business , just dont forget your blankey LOL

I have booked this week off work to put the engine in the 340, today I have removed the b14, and bolted the b18 in, and so far, it all fits!! I have made most of the exhaust and modified the standard tank sensor to take a subaru impreza fuel pump. Hopefully if my links work, there sould be some photos, including the lovely prop that reco-prop built for me

The beast lives! fired it up on friday after a few teething problems,
and its sounding good. unfortunately I then spent the whole of saturday removing the sump to fix an oil leak from the side of the rear main bearing cap which is sealed by sqirting sillicone sealer into a groove down both sides of the cap, obviously I must have been a bit tight with the sealer first time round! Never mind its all back together now. Need to do a bit of work on the exhaust caus it hits the n/s driveshaft if you bounce the suspension hard, and the intercooler hoses are a bit of a bodge at the moment, other than that I just need to get it on the dyno at work and start doing some mapping

HI, The prop was made by Recoprop (Luton) 01582412110.
Web : www.reco-prop.com The prop is hollow steel with two u.j's, and fits as per standard. It does however, make more noise, especialy if the idle speed is too low, and there is a slight increase in vibration.
Got the car on the dyno today, and started to get some of the mapping work done, all I can say is
BOOST IS COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
untill it blows the pipe off the throttle body............
On the road I have let it start to spool up to about 5 psi, and you can feel it realy starting to push you back in the seat, but I darent go any harder yet as it's only got 40 miles on the engine! OH, and that bloody boost pipe pops off. Still, it is definately starting to show some potential

Had the 340 on the dyno again tonight for a bit more mapping, and towards the end I did a couple of low boost (7psi) power runs to 5000 rpm, I recorded the last one just for a laugh, and its making 142 bhp and 168 lbs/ft peak torque, thats with the top 50% of the maps as a guess. the power runs were to see if the injector scaling was anywhere near . On the road it is already quite funny, especialy the look on saxo boy on the way home
