after fixing no end of problems with my 340 dl 1.4 auto thats been stood for a long time its nearly mot ready only 1 problem left:


have it ticking over much better now...... ive driven it up and down the road a bit and it all seems ok ..
however if i stop with the car pointing up hill and attempt to set off again it seems to lack enough power to get going untill i put my foot allmost to the floor? cant think what may be causing this?

maybe the clutch? or maybe a little surface rust on the drums that the drive belts go round? (it has been stood for 12 months)


any ideas anybody??

And this "lack of power", is it lack of forward motion with lots or little revs? Any peculiar noises from the front or rear?

it is a lack of forward motion if i try to set off up hill lots of revs needed .... someone else described it well when they told me its like trying to set off in 3rd gear in a manual

Check the clutch clearance. Clutch could be toast or gap too wide.
