Hi Wiktor,

did you know there are same block engines around with 2.0 litres ??

you have to transfer a number of parts from your current engine but it will fit!

the 480 injection engine has 110 bhp i think - that must be mostly camshaft work..

nope, multipoint injection... that makes quite a difference ;-)

I'd drop a complete B20F in (ie: the 400 series one, not the one from an Amazon, etc)

cheers

[edit; quote added]

I think that the B20F is that same 2.0 renault engine?
If I remember correctly the B172K sump and oil pump have to stay?
and ofcourse the clutch housing/clutch shaft.

wasn't there a bolt configuration problem with one or several of the B18/B20 blocks? or are these all the same?

James and how is it look like?
I want to put the B20F to my 340. Any sugestions or advice how to do it, is it any problems with it?

It looks the same as a B172, but with a fuel injection manifold.

for the fuel injection, you would need to wire it up with the Engine Control Unit from the donor car. another forum member has such a engine on LPG, I think he used a carb manifold.

A few points to note here.

Fuel injection does not produce more power than carbs. Fuel injection has used for emiissions.

I have fitted the B20F from a 460 into my g/f car. There is a fair bit involved.

Parts you need to tranfer from the B172 onto the B20F are

Sump
Engine mount brackets and mounts
Thermostate housing
Exhaust manifold
spigot bearing
alternator brackets
Engine pulleys
metal water pipe

The problem you are then left with is the inlet manifold. You will need the early 4 series one as the later one will not fit.

I did not have this problem as I altered the carb manifold to fit a 240 throttle body. I then put an LPG mixer on top and away I went.

110 BHP

WOW :D

Absolutely Dai - the improvements are in accuracy of the fuel system (especially with a lambda sensor to keep things in check - particularly as the engine ages), rather than power output.
