Volvo cams

Post by classicswede » 29 Dec 2005 04:42 pm

I've got some new cams that I need to identify. Where are they marked.
I should know this but cant remember. They are to new for me as I'm used to B18 & 20's.

There could be some nice cams for sale if I can find out what they are.

Thanks
Dai

I've pulled most of them out,
I have
A
C
E
F and one with no mark on it :?

I think they are fairly boring cams I bet.
I will have a further look to see if I have anything different.

How much bhp do you get with a K cam? And do feul consumption and reliability get worse? I think I would like such a K cam, with a bit larger injectors. Megasquirt would be cool, but way to expensive for me. I also do not know enough about injection settings to program megasquirt.

A cam is a decent cam for turbo but nothing mind blowing. :P D is better, or V. H is the hottest stock Volvo cam. K gives kinda flat power band in turbo engine like A but in NA engine it is better than A. (Well it is better in turbo too but the difference isn't so big) I have A, it is stock in 300-series B200E. Those other are kinda boring. :P

I'm pretty sure all of those (with the possible exception of the A) are OHV cams. I have a feeling they did an A for OHV, but I may well be wrong there.

Wow...some rare stuff there!

All I can come up with is...
F: 1219350 (Specs Like M) B21F (77-80 North America)

That's not exactly going to be an upgrade for anyone :(

The C might be interesting. A-D (minus C....it's unheard of) are all moderately hot.

cheers

Could be...but then why would you have those? In general there is considered to be one 'Marin' cam used in all Penta 8v engines, but that doesn't sound much like Volvo to me...

Do you know the duration and lifts for most of the common cams?

I could try and measure what I have.

There's that page what I was talking about. No mention about C or E though. :P
