Right well i have been fairly busy with the car but not had much time to post pics etc so here goes. I was looking on ebay and stumbled across a set of the Taurus 480 rims. Bidded last min and won for the sum of. £37. When i got them they were pretty tidy but needed repainting. To do this it meant losing the centre logos, as the caps are huge it would look very plain without them. So called in on a vinyl place by me and had some vinyls made up for £20. Then i got round to flatting out the minimal curb rash round the outer rims. Then i painted the wheels inside and out with aerosols. Before laquering the outside i applied the vinyls so they would be protected by the laquer.
Here is some pics of the refurb job.

As i picked them up. Tidy but badly painted.

Aswell as the wheels i'm spending another insane amount of money on fresh paint. I'm having the pass side repainted as a T$£T dented my door with theirs, whilst my car was in works car park!!! And when i got the car i repaired a dent in the rear quarter and was never 100% with the finish of paint so i bit the bullet and got the lot done!!!
The car looked pretty sorry for itself, as i stuck it back on steels so i could get tyres put on the new rims from old ones.

The car will be back on Friday and i should get some gud pics done Sat morn!!!

Yeh they are 15's and also are 1/2 inch wider than the old six spokes. The offset is also a tad lower so will give a wider track of about an inch overall.

Good work mate! Steve and myself have both been interested in the Taurus alloys, but I'd never seen a cheap set, you did well there! However Steve and myself found alternative alloys, but you've proved they'll look mint on a 300. I like the decal touch on those, looks good. That's going to be one clean and tidy car, real PITA when muppets open their doors on your car. I think we need a 300 protection system, or in other words someone hiding in the bushes with a cattle prod if some careless fool opens their door onto your car!! It's worth the effort mate, and money.

Your car just keeps getting better. :) At first I wasn't sure about the red volvo logo on the wheels but on the car it works perfectly, what with the red on the bumpers and badges :)

Like it, nice work! I think that grille's great and a lot more Volvo than the old one, but still different.

Nice work mate, I wasnt convinced on the wheels but they do look good on the car. Not sure about the grille though - I'm still all in for the Volvo slash, but good work all the same.

Your bodyshop bloke is awesome... mines going there next time..
