Hi all
Does anyone know if its possible to chuck a 740 rear axle on the back of a 340 (removing the 340 one first, obviously  ) ?? If so how, if not what are the probs? Just curious really...

TBH mate you will have a major job on your hands here. The 300 has a transaxle so no Gearbox up front whereas the 740 is a traditional box up front prop rear axle layout!!!

Fair enough, but assuming you were prepared to cut a nice new tunnel and hypothetically speaking...would it fit dimensions wise??

I am pretty sure the 700 series axle is a little too wide for a 300

   I am in awe and not worthy of such engineering genius!! Whats the difference between the 240 and 740 axles - i thought they were similar?? I know you can get the 740 with an automatic locking diff, which I suspect might be useful for sidewaysedness...

Inside parts of 200-,700-, and I guess also 900-series diffs are interchangeable. So differences are external. :P With stiff axels that is, about multilinks I don't know.
