A friend of mine needed some help with his V340 B14.4 engine that he had mounted in his Volvo 66.

the complaint was that the thing didn't idle and used incredible amounts of fuel.

watch the movie and find out the reason for the fuel consumption.

A number of issues were solved with another carb, some gaskets (EGR fitted with blind gasket) replaced and the brake servo turned out to be broken.

the vacuum regulation of the CVT also has to be fixed, but we had no inspiration for that today.

Hehe, that's pretty awesome! I'd love a 66, but don't really have much use for one, other than for conversion as an electric town car.

cheers

James

Well that was something you can call leak, wondering how gasket can end up to that shape ?

the original diaphragm was shot, so it leaked already.

the owner took one from another carb and 'fitted' it with RTV sealant. apparently this worked for a while :o but when he got to my place the RTV had already given way.

Woah!!! I had the return line dripping on my B14, which I got a tad panicky about when I found it, but it wasn't that bad!
