Interesting Dana rear end for 300-series

Post by Fuse » 26 Oct 2006 11:57 am

I found this for sale at this Finnish site

http://www.nettiauto.com/viewVehicle.php?id_car=967986

It's an aluminium Dana rear end with new 4.88 gearing (has a LSD) and it is modified to fit in 300-series.

Price is just quite staggering, 1000€, though it is from a Group-F rally car* and rally parts are never cheap.. Expensive but that would take "some" power..

*Group F is a Finnish motorsport class, cars are 2WD cars without turbos and vehicle's international classification has to be expired. Quite a popular class (well most popular if popularity is measured by the number of participants) because cars are not so expensive as in bigger classes and cars vary quite a bit, because new vehicles come in as one's international classification expires. And there are lots of cars like that in here. :P

Very interesting. As said also expensive.

James are you still looking at doing an lsd conversion or have you given up on the idea?

Jani already pointed this out I think. Very interesting, but also a pretty crazy price. I would like an LSD, but it's a seriously pricy option at this point in time.

cheers

Pricy!!! Says the man that delivers Daf's across Europe to get Rare R Sport parts.

Perhaps you can take them some bags of tea and some english crumpets via some crazy road trip in exchange for the LSD

It looks a bit like two pieces have been welded together...i.e. the front half of a M47R diff and the rear half of the front case-section of a Dana 30.

The roadtrip didn't work out *much* more expensive than just paying for the parts to be shipped...:-P

cheers
