max power!

Does anyone have any idea how much power a standard propshaft & rear axle of a 1.7gle 340 can sensibly handle? I know the car has 80bhp as standard...

not a huge amount more, my 1.4 has eaten 2 so far. having said that, i've heard of a 1.7 turbo doing ok.

Depends a lot on your driving style...

I can't see why you wouldn't be able to put 200bhp through it if you were pretty careful - 150 if you wanted to thrash it. With all transmission matters, it's not a case of whether it'll break....but how long it'll take to break
