Thats the noise my car makes

at first it was cool but now im wondering if it needs a tune up...

2ltr standard 360 engine,
single SU style carb
Kand N filter,
2" straight thru pipe
straight thru sports backbox

any thoughts? i get the impression its overfuelling yet when i turn it down it idles well roughly.

then again i might be adjusting the idle speed and not the fuelling LOL

Dash pot on the carb run out of oil? They make themselves run rich if that happens.

no i top that up quite regular...

1/2 2in1

makes for a nice smell

it was popping long before i decided on this combo - used to just use 2 stroke

actually its mainly on downchanges that it pops, or when going downhill. it stops when i put the foot down

If you have removed one of the slilencers you probably wont get rid of the popping, my 16v on injection pops like mad with 2large silencers in the system. To be fair it also shoots foot long flames out of both sides when you come off full throttle at high revs!!!

Im still in the mindset that popping is nothing to worry about and much to be proud of; so long as its not a symptom of being really 'out of tune' then im cool with it

I made the grill mate. Cheers, yeh if you have removed the box then it will almost definately be that!!

my 340 popped etc when it was lean! pull the choke out a it would stop so i made it a lil richer and it stoped it. .....miss the popping tbh

yeah you're right - more choke, less popping.

also, however, more choke less MPG
