Re: Nimminz' GLT
Update - sort of
- Removed undertray - most of the lip round the edges where the mounting screw holes are snapped, cracked or non existant. Also it was very oily under there, like VERY. Cleaned it all up and will see if any more appears. All levels are fine so might just be old stuff. also took the spoiler off the front and found in the corner where the valance meets wing, right at the bottom the rust is starting, maybe a half inch square has gone. As its hidden under the spoiler i'll attack it with the welder and see how it goes.
-Going to reinforce the undertray and replace the lost material. Think the plan is to rivet some 1mm steel strips round the outside then drill the holes in the correct placein the steel. A clean then a Lick of paint and get some brand new bolts and get it fitted
-Got a puncture but was convinced it was the valve as i could see bubbles coming round the outside of the 'stem' when wet. so got it changed, still went flat
I'll stick the spare on for now and save for a new tyre to match the other side of the axle, it needed doing anyway.
-Got a '92 published haynes manual that covers the MK3 (finally) I have 2 of the older blue/gren ones for 340&360 and one really early one for 343and345 only.
-Ordered some wind deflectors
just for the front as thats all i could afford (no that i could really afford them lol). waiting for them to come next week
-Tried to open the sunroof up to try and fix it, managed nothing bar scraping the paint on something inside the roof and having it get stuck so its shut, but not up sitting flush with the roof :/ found a loose metal thing at one side:

Couldn't find it on the diagram in the haynes, will check the green books if its covered
List of things to fix before MOT due late june 2011 ... Shit :/
-OSF bttom arm to body bush
-Blowing exhaust
-New wipers all round as they all have something wrong or are missing
-PAS making that noise it makes at full lock, after about a quarter turn onwards
-Tracking
-New NSR tyre
-All wheels need balancing
-All the shocks seem fooked (how much is it meant to bounce?)
-i THINK the cold start inj. is leaking and it seems to spit plain fuel out the exhaust when starting from cold :/ getting 25mpg at best over the last 1K miles
There will be more than needs doing but can't think of it at the moment...
Thanks for looking!

Re: Nimminz' GLT
The body should come back up, past the rest point and then back to the rest point, new dampers makes a big difference

Re: Nimminz' GLT
on mine you push down, it come s back up, down, up, down, up, down then its stoped. Thats on all 4 corners. guessing they shagged
Wouldn't mind Dai's adjustables at the back at least if not at the front too
No way i can afford them till i get student monies in september though

Re: Nimminz' GLT
yes they sounds pretty shagged! my old ones didnt even move as much as that :/ Im abit put off by dai at the momment seems alot of people havn't had there stuff off him

Re: Nimminz' GLT
aye i seen the comments on the catalogue thread. It will be september when i buy stuff with that sort of price tag anyway so hopefully its all cleared up by then.
Getting a new tyre ordered tomorrow, and hopefully front wind deflectors will arrive
Also found yet another 340/360 haynes manual and thought it was worth picking up at the car boot sale along with a volvo 144 service manual 'green book'
Will befixin the blowing exhaust tomorrow with the welder if the rain goes by the afternoon.
Hopefully it will pass on the shocks, its going to a landrover specialist for the MOT so they shouldn't be bothered bout bouncy suspension lol

Re: Nimminz' GLT
That metal sunroof part is on of the parts which moves in the nylon/plastic guide so it's quite important to keep the sunroof on it's correct path.
My sunroof also needs a complete repair.

Cheers for the replies!
PAS fluid is fine :/
I'll investigate further into the sunroof and check on the diagram. wonder if anyone has a fully functioning one?
UPDATE
MOT tomorrow!!! Exhaust blows slightly and the tracking's off, wheels need balancing and a wiper blade needs changing. Ne chance of it getting done before though
Wind deflectors arrived
Photos:

Love them.
Started trying to fix the under tray but its too knackered to fix properly, so it will go back on cleaned but held with cable ties

Re: Nimminz' GLT
Wind deflectors are so eighties. I approve!
Trackings not motable.
A blows not usualy enough to fail unless is gaping.
Good luck man. Sure youll bounce through,
