Different ratios, of course, but they're basically the same components in terms of strength..that's what I meant :) All the M47s in 300s are the same for instance, with the difference being in the diff ratio.

Moderately strong, yes, but far from indestructible. The Turbobricks guys making 300+ bhp are forever complaining about the M4x series being too weak, but then the most common M46 (4spd+OD) is supposedly the weakest too. It's all about driving style...abuse the box (even with a B14) and eventually it'll break. 5k clutch-dumps....me?! ;-)

The 47 and 47R are definitely different boxes, and I don't think it can be down to the bellhousing, as this can be unbolted. I'm guessing it is related to mountings (and maybe the linkage?), since the 'R' boxes lie on their sides. The input and output shafts may well also be different.

cheers

Hi guys,

sorry to ask, but I just can't read all the pages. Is there still a possibility to get these special koni shock absorbers?

I'm thinking about fitting some on my GLT and maybe on the GLS if I change into a R version.

So it would be 1 or 2 pairs.

Let me know about it! sm15

It is needed to order 12-13 pairs of these, then it would be possible, so currently it looks quite dead, unless somewhere we could find someone that have won in a lottery ;)

Well, actually 3000euros loose money would be enough :D

There's another buy looking at Spax (adjustable?) shocks. Those are supposedly a bit tougher, and I think they might be cheaper too.

cheers

How much would cost a pair of Koni?

Can you tell me more about this spax thing.

Thanks

I've got those adjustable Koni's aswell. If you need the adjusting instructions just let me know. I'll mail them to you.
