Drop link replacement

Post by TasMan » 08 May 2022 10:49 pm

Second small job this weekend which was way easier than the steering coupling...
I was getting a worsening creaking from the front end, at MOT the drop links were scrutinised, no play but the joints appeared siezed/tight.
I happened to have picked up a pair of new stock links last year so I got them swapped over.
What a difference....creaking cured....!
I took the chance to grease the Classic Swede top mounts at the same time.

For the small cost I might think about changing the lower ball joints and tie rod ends given the condition of the drop links. Might help further improve the steering response compared to old/dry joints...?
