Pretty quick question...I'm doing a 500 mile round trip tomorrow for a complete strut (inc brakes etc)... Manchester to Kent and back.

It's gonna be snowy and I'm gonna be tired... Is it possible to remove the entire strut unit including the hub and brake disc/caliper without removing the hub/caliper/disc...?

Just don't wanna be lay in the snow unprepared

Oh, the brake line off the caliper I need that too, is that going to be tricky to remove?

Remove bottom ball joint, remove track rod, cut brake line, and undo strut top bolts. Remove the speedo cable if its the nearside.

You could cut the solid break line and cut the mount where flexi hose and solid line join?

nice quick job to do but I would suggest you replace the brake flexis with new ones. Fit your caliper to the strut when you do the swap or a pair of refurbed ones if calipers are no good.
The flexi is not expensive

Ye, a brand new flexi house would be sensible

Cheers guys my lift let me down for Kent manged to get a lad from a loc scrapyard to drop me one off and I've been having a nightmare getting the ball joins back on as the threads are damaged on the steering arm one.

Fun fun fun for tomorrow eh? Could do with an impact driver
