ive just bought a volvo 340 1.4 in turd brown colour
ive decided to go down the 3" lowering block and land rover shocks route for the rear
however with the front im at a loss
im swaying towards dai's lowering springs but dont know what size to get, im a little put off by the stories of them popping out of the cups especially when cut with the trusty grinder
the cars not going to be covering many miles at all so i want it to look nice and flush on minilites
not too fussy when it comes to comfort or performance

anyone with previous experience?
what set up are you using?

cheers 340pw

Dai's lowering springs with his adjustable dampers.

If you don't fit the adjustable dampers then the spring will become unseated as when the damper fully extends the spring will be 3" shorter than it should be.

is there any other alternative to the shortened dampers from dai?
the price list is getting ever so expensive for lowering a £400 car
i still dont know if my struts are inserts or re-fillable
i thought dai's dampers where just inserts

could be getting my wires crossed here though

The dampers are inserts but with a shorter piston to hold the lowering springs in.

The other alternative is to machine down the original piston if you have the original dampers.
