Has anybody got photos of the different types of steel wheels fitted to 300s? IIRC there is one that has lots of holes around the edge.

Probably 400 series.

Spent ages googling already, wouldn't have asked if I could find it.
Did come across a thread on tramp drift about a 340 lowered by removing the front springs and letting it sit on the bump stops!

Okay, benefit of doubt given.
Dimension given in a sticky at the top of the section:
viewtopic.php?f=54&t=4058 for
Pages of this site that are locked out, most have a cached version of the page on Google.
Up to 79MY. Cannot be used with later cars as the dish of the centre doesn't clear the calipers (think 4.5 x 13):
MY80-85. May also be found with a polished stainless steel trim ring. (4.5 x 13 / 5.0 x 13 / 5.5 x 14)

A (UK full-size) spare one would be black:

DL steelie MY86> (5.0 x 13)
And a GLT steelie (5.5 x 14 / also a 15" version can be had from a 400 series car?)
Google working fine over here thanks

Thanks Macplaxton the GLT steel wheel is the one I'm after, where did you find it? I spent about half an hour on Google and couldn't find it
I'm not sure how to get to cached stuff cause everytime I click on something for V3M on google it just says I don't have permission to see it.

Google images, on the second of my links posted above, was a site search [prefix URL with "site:"] with the words "steel" and "rims", then clicked "images", then looked down to the fourth row of pics. Not even 30 seconds.

Click on the page and get the unauthorised to view message. Copy n paste that who URL back into a Google search box and the search result comes back up, besides the result is a wee blue down arrow, go to that and it should give in the drop down list an option of viewing the "cached" version of the page. If you need to view the next page of the thread, then add &start=15 (30, 45, etc.) to the address in the search box to find the cached version of that next page. Pain in the hole I know, but it's one way to see the "missing" pages.
Spend half an hour reading the instructions on how to use Google. It'll be time well spent. Resist the temptation to click onto YouTube links and wonder where all the last few hours have disappeared to when you eventually find yourself at a video of comedy animals.

Oh and if there are any 300 OEM steelies I've missed that anyone has a picture of, stick it up. (Including the space saver)

Now why didn't you just say banded in the first place?
200 series, but you get the idea of the look.

Space-saver stylee (not sure what the brake cooling is like with no 'oles.)

And another variation on the theme

On the 400 series wheels you refer to, you may be able to fit some late DL plastic centre caps as the legs grip the inside of the nuts.

I think theyre xc90 steels banded out, theres a 240 on a set of banded focus steels that look amazing too.
Just checked my spare steel and where its been out for a few weeks the lip has just started to blister in places, ill grab some pics in a sec but its pretty bloody tidy if its as old as the car i got it off

The GLT steels are very similar to the 3 series BMW or VW steels from the same era. Thats what I used on my budget modded 340 in the 80/90s. I got mine free with tyres as the originals where rusted and leaky.. mint condition silver BMW steels.
