Have just taken possession of the Volvo 360 from the Isle of Man (was advertised for sale in the VOC site) . Great car. Have decided to invest in new schock absorbers. Has anybody got any recommendations ?

I don't know what damper brands are available in there. But try to find gas dampers. At least rear shock absorbers should be gas dampers. I have at the moment oil dampers in rear and they feel a bit weird after gas dampers.

I'll second that - I got KYB oil dampers of eBay - and they're ****.

Try to get gas ones. Dai (classicswede) does SPAX adjustable dampers for about 130 quid. And you can buy Koni shocks for the Alfa Guilia which fit the 300 for about the same money. Some people have managed to find original Konis for the 300 too, but I've never seen any.

I'd quite like just a standard gas shock - nothing too fancy, but can't find any.

I've got the red koni's all round.. great shocks for a 360 I'd say..accept no substitutes! (except for the SPAX dampers off course, but I have no experience with those myself)

The Koni's are no longer available. I do the spax for the rear and things will be happening for the front.

I need to sell more rears first. :)

Keep a close eye on www.ebay.de and do searches for volvo +koni once in a while. That's where I found mine for less than 50 euro's a pair (new!).

Hi Ben,

George Mitchell of 'Friends of the Volvo 300' heard about the lovely car you bought, and was interested to hear about who it had gone to! I'm glad to see that you're sticking around :)

I'd suggest you try standard gas shocks, or something like the Konis or Spax rears if you fancy something a touch more sporty.

cheers

James

Boge made the originals, I think. Monroe and various other people did gas ones too, but most also did oil ones - so choose carefully!
