My front tie bar bushes are cracking. I have been told you cant get replacements. Do any other car make have similar. I would prefer rubber not poly as there are too many speed humps herabouts .

Steve, do you mean the bushes in the tie rod ends? If so, the t/r/e themselves are relatively easy to source and are quite cheap!

Thats right ,they are at the end of the front tie bar. Last year the mot tester put on an advisory but implied they were unobtainable from Volvo(the local Volvo main dealer has closed down). Have you found them at a motor factors? Would like to replace them shortly so be most interested of your supplier.

The problem with those Ebay links (all of them except volvo_et_vendo) is... they don't claim actually selling TRW (etc.) parts, just equivalent to OE part no. this, and TRW (etc.) part no. that. But the good thing is, you get a list of the fairly many types of cars that have the same tie rod ends as the 300 series. One more part that may be NLA at the Volvo dealer, but will definitely be available for a long long time to come.

We seem to be mixing description. Your links show what we call in english ,track rod ball joints . I am after the rubber cushions with holes that fix on the end of the front stabiliser bars!

Yes, they are triangular/conical. I found them listed under "nordic volvo" so looks like they are still available. So much for listening to the mot tester!
