What does this light indicate?

As topic says. Its an 1986 360 GLE

It seems to be shift light. Based on the info i've got about it. It is the most useless accessorie in a 300. And apparently it doesn't even work properly.

It's a gear shift indicator. It shows when you should change gear to drive economically.

Well...then this light is screwed up! It even lights when I dont give any throttle.

probably reads off vacum, and there's a leak to it so it stays on?

It's fed by the renix, not sure what it comes on at, think Foggy said his was around 2500.

my 340 has that light too it has lit up a few times but at around 5500 rpm it is fed with power from the renix but mine doesnt work as its makers intended either in the manuals section under electrical theres a wiring diagram for it
