Valve clearance on B200E
Valve clearance on B200E
Hi.
I have installed a new cam (k-cam), and the valve clearance is as below:
# 1 exhaust: 0.35mm
# 1 inlet: 0.35mm
# 2 exhaust: 0.35mm
# 2 inlet: 0.35mm
# 3 exhaust: 0.30mm
# 3 inlet: 0.30mm
# 4 exhaust: 0.35mm
# 4 inlet: 0.30mm
My question is:
"Does it have anything to say that #3inlet,#3exhaust and #4inlet has 0.05mm smaller clearance than the others?"
regards.
Peter

b200 sould have 0.30 to 0.40mm valve clearance on the inlet and exhaust valves. Your clearances are spot on, the diffarence you have on 3 and 4 are due to slightly uneven wear, or manufacturing tollerances, but they are nothing to worry about, at work I regularly see heads with .5 mm diffarence between valves!!!

Hi.
Thanks for the quick reply.
I will start with this clearance and maybe later adjust them.
I´m about to overhaul a B230 and the head including the k-cam must go on that engine.
You can se all of it on: http://www.volvo300.dk

the only thing that bugs me about saloons.. why didnt they make a new back bumper? the rear bumper on the saloon is straight off the hatch, and looks pants!

Re: Valve clearance on B200E
I have 0.4 on every cylinder, except 2 of them on wich i have 0.35.Do You think if that i would adjust the clearence to 0.35 to all the cilinders there would be a diference?

Re: Valve clearance on B200E
Hi,
I've got a stock B200e in my 360 GTL and I was hoping to start the conservative tuning process with a livelier cam - 115bhp (at new!) from a 2 litre is just silly. I understand that the cam you've installed (K-profile) is one of the ones to have - how would one find out what cam was currently in place? And where on earth did you source the new one? Can't seem to find them anywhere...
Also, I'm assuming the more aggressive cams have more lift-on overlap, but I've read that the exhaust pulses these send back through the intake can cause trouble with the flap-style air-flow sensors...
Eventually i'll go berserk and change both intake and exhaust for throttle bodies and something properly tuned, but doing so on stock cams seems silly...
Thoughts?
