Engine noise.. cant find an old post with same noise.

Post by CBA » 19 May 2011 05:08 am

I heard this noise a few weeks back on here, someone posted a video - It sounds like a shaft going apeshit in it's bearings, when the engine is spinning down after revving - only on the way down, pretty nasty sound.. I think the last guy said some shaft/spline had snapped - cant find the video of it - can someone point me in the right direction?

[VND]Shaft.[/VND]

More unhelpful posting; I am unaware of this thread. Sounds very gearboxy though.

might have been.. it sounded like a collapsed clutch release mech "sawing" itself to death, but only when revving down, or massively louder at least when revving down.
