Hey all.
Got a slight issue with my 1.4... It's running rather rich...
Ive check the carb an it's not loose / shakey, so I dot think the carb is loose at all...
Can anybody tell me where the fuel / mixture screw is? If I want to turn it down slightly would it just be a small adjustment? (1/4 of a turn, etc)
Cheers

you can't really tell how much you need to adjust the mixture screw, but there's a trick that let's you know it's running ok
if you follow the small hose that goes around the oil filler cap, (this hose comes from the ignition unit) it ends at the carburator, the mixture screw is right next to the hose's connection.
adjusting:
clockwise=leaner
anti-clockwise=richer
it's a fineadjustment so dont screw it too quick, you want the engine to run on running temp and turn the screw leaner thát much so that the engine begins to buggle, shake and stutter. at that point, turn it half a turn richer (or as much is needed to get the engine running smooth). now press on the brake pedal, if the engine's rpm doesn't change it's ok. if the rpm's rise when you press the brake pedal; it's too rich. if it nearly stalls; its too lean. with applying the brake pedal you can adjust your mixture till perfection.
if you can't get it to run properly; overgo the service and check/change: spark plugs, leads, dizzy, rotor arm, valve play. that's all ok and you still can't get it adjusted, looking at the carb is the next step (working idle solenoid, floaterheight etc.)
