[*] hi guys, basically I bought this car on Saturday and drove it back to coventry from Kent with no problem, Sunday evening I was out in the car when the battery light came on (but turned off at high revs leading me to think its the voltage regulator) so I drove home and sure enough, it Died.
I took the battery to my friends garage which he charged up and tested, batterys fine.
So anyway, I went to the car today to remove the alternator and noticed the 4 Orange wires connected to it (at 2 oclock if red is 10 oclock and red/blue is at 12) are not connected to anything!!
Could this be my problem,
Where do I connect it to,
And has it buggered my alternator???
If someone could shed some light I'd be ever so grateful.
Cheers, Dan

Could you post pics?
From memory it should have two studs (+ve and -ve, different sizes so you can't get them muddled up) and a white multiplug (with about 4 wires in it I think). Has your alternator got these kind of connections or is it something else that has been botched in its place? I think the wires with ring terminals in the Volvo loom (that go to the studs on the alternator) are all red or black and should be pretty obvious.
