seems to come down on a language matter then.
indeed, if it goes away at light pressure on the clutch, the release bearing is the culprit.
just wanted to say there is another possibility, certainly on 340's.
noisey propshaft?

Right, from Husky's description, mine then looks to be either the clutch quill thingy, or gearbox, as mine only goes when I stick the clutch down fully.
Husky... If (when I guess) I sort out my prop, if I get one made similar to yours will that sort it if this quill thing is the problem? I have a feeling my prob will need doing soon, it's been slipping since I've had the thing (4 1/2 years) and it's got worse this summer.

Cris, I am assuming that you will be changing the prop as part of the conversion to turbo power, if so, and if your car is currently a 1.4 then yes, it will sort it out as you have to change the belhousing asembly to a 1.7 one, If you already have the 1.7, then you will need to change the bearing in the housing, Its no real hassle, and the bearing ought to be cheaply and easily obtained from your local bearing trader

Cheers Iain, yeah, it's the 1.4 I'll do the engine on, I'm going to be using the 1.7 for towing (ok.. so I could have put a towbar on the 1.4, but I still wanted to move
) Right, thats another noise thats got cheaper.
