Hello and welcome.

Try this thread:

360s have the advantage of the 2l engine and stronger drive train. However, they can be harder to find, especially the three doors.

Cheers,

Gavin.

ANOTHER drift-o 300...

360GLT 115-118bhp
360 GLE/GLS around 105bhp
340 1.4 72bhp
340 1.7 around 80bhp iirc

360s - Volvo Redblock
340s - Renault derived engines

None of them are particularly quick and unfortunately there isn't a turbo version available. Although it's relatively easy to fit a turbo engine from a 700 or 900 series Volvo to the 360. 340s can take various engine swaps out of Renaults and the Volvo 400 series. If power is order of the day.

Word of warning, 3 door 360s are VERY difficult to find! 340 3 doors - easy.

A good search on the forum will tell you all you need to know, welcome!

340 have the advantage that they are slightly less heavier...

And... you can always put a 1.7 Turbo there

parts for the motor are cheaper to... And if they are expensive in Volvo you can always go to Renault

340 3dr 1.7 is what you want with a welded diff.

1.7 is the one to go for. Loads of bits available to sort them out.

Why do I have a 360?

There are no 245's here! 850's yes, but I HATE  FWD

Not that i'm knocking the 360. And for drifting, at least the name suits!
