Hi...
A friend of mine has a mint grey 1984 340 CVT and I'm going right now to tow him off somewhere.
Need a price estimate of two variator belts

If anyone has a few to spare. Can be used.
Some basic instruction on changing belts would be appreciated too.
thanks.

From motonet:
340-s Variaattorin hammashihnaPARI. . . . . . . . . . . . . 30-0001 149.35
Sick price, imo as those are needed to replace every 40 000km or so?
When I had student and working in garage, there came one 300-serie with vario in, it had lost bolt that keeps variator plates against each other, that is center of plate. Customer found it 200m from garage, he was lucky indeed as there was no such bolt in garage...

Hi Tero, I've got this job to come shortly when I get my variomatic on the road. It's not exceeded or even reached the milage from new to require new belts yet only 10514 miles, but enough time has passed that they'll probably have perished and will be likely to break. I have a new pair that I got from Dai, and there were some photocopied instructions with them. I could scan those for you if that would be useful? Sadly the resident variomatic man in the UK hasn't been seen or heard of for sometime.
Pete
