Having spent the afternoon underneath the 360 struggling trying to get a tank strap off which had rusted through, I've now spotted that a couple of cloth covered fuel hoses look as if they are leaking. There are two, which join hard clear pipe just coming over the top edge of the tank. With the transmission in the way they look impossible to get at and reclip a replacement in. I'm hoping that these are the two hoses which eventually connect to the fuel tank sender unit, which are also attached by cloth hoses to the actual unit which is visible under the back seat with the cover removed. Brains of Britain here thinks that if I get a long enough piece of either reinforced clear hose or the black type, that I can wiggle it down across the top of the tank down underneath the car and just connect the tank sender unit and the hard plastic hose lower down at a convenient point.
Before I do anything drastic by cutting stuff out and then finding I cant replace the fuel line this way, can someone confirm my thinking - or better still if you've done the job let me know how you did it.
Apologies for the long post - thanks for any advice.

Hello and welcome. I'm assuming you have a carbed 360 GLE or GLS? These afaik would have the fabric covered hoses, and what a nuisance they are as they just don't stand the test of time compared to fuel injection piping! There is a good guide with pictures here http://www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/v ... highlight= I'd replace it with fuel injection pipe, which can be found quite easily, mine came from Halfords and you'll probably need new pipe clips, as they will be Volvo one piece clips in places, which you'll break taking them off!

There is metal cover underside of transmission, when you took that out there is much more space to get to those hoses. It helps a lot, if you can get car lifted well into air so that you can walk under, this is how I changed my hoses, then I also did install copper piping too, much better now as there is no leaks.
