Hi.
I bought a volvo 360 GLT, and my next project is to put in a volvo K camshaft! I bought one
over ebay.com for 67$.
My question is:
" Is there anyone there has any experience in tuning the B200 engine? "
I am thinking of renewing the cylinderhead and put in new valves, valvesprings and make
some porting!
Has anyone made a similar tuning project. I would really like to know.

I saw an artical on the different types of replacement cams
and camshafts and what they do for the 360, i'll see if i cant dig up a link for you.
As for the cylinder head, there were ppl taking the cyl. heads of a renault, though specifically
what series it didnt say, i'll ask.
Sorry, the cyl head swap was for a B23ET engine, the head was from a B230F... Anyway,
heres the link, and make sure to check out Kevins Strongs 360, its pulling over 300HP.

It's pulling nearly 400bhp for this season

The K-cam is a good swap - much hotter cam. Shame if you like low end torque though.
Don't forget to get it on a rolling road to check the fuelling and ignition is all ok.
I'm swapping the L cam in my B200K for an A cam from a B200E, then if that's not enough,
I'm going for a K.
cheers

I'm really not sure...I believe it might just be more
boost....maybe a replacement ignition control system. 400bhp is heading towards what is
possible from a 8v B230, so I think he's doing pretty well. I'm amazed at how well their
transmission is holding up - the M47 gearbox is really living on borrowed time by 300bhp, and
the torque-tube is far weaker! I guess its the way they treat them about as well as you can for
a track car (rolling starts, etc)
cheers

urgh... torque tube... *shudder* i had to walk 30 k's down a neglected road when the gear teeth apparently "ate" the torque tube... can someone tell me the difference between the torque rod and the drive shaft? They sound like the same thing

The torque tube has the drive shaft inside it on these cars - it's to stop the gearbox flipping over. Presumably the extra torque of the B200 was enough to make them worried...
One of the front engined Porches had a trans-axle gearbox....I've been meaning to look into how those are set-up. My plan is to run the daily drive up to around 240bhp, then have a wilder car with a trans swap, etc, so I can push more like 400 and thrash it as much as I please.
cheers
