Engine spits oil to bonnet, quite a lot

Oil comes from inside of timing belt cover, around distributor height and there is good wet area on hood and side of engine is well oiled.

Seal of shaft that rotates distributor perhaps?

I try to look this tomorrow.

Cam belt cover has ton of oil inside, it is like oil has been sprayed there, belt seem not to be wet but surely it has got it's share of oil, it was impossible to see where oil was coming, but it looks like to be either crankshaft or that shaft that runs distributor.

4 years ago belt was replaced by professional garage and I told them to replace all seals also, seems to be that they did not do job very well as there has been bit of oil drips since then, however now thing is really bad and I need to drive 1000km each week.

Hi Jani.

Have you checked your PCV system?
If this is clogged then the crank case fumes will make high pressure inside the engine and rhis will press the oil out several places!
I have tried this myself on my 340 B172K! The valve cover gasket was laeking like hell, but when I found out the PCV system was clogged, then there was no problems at all!

How are things going in Finland?

Regards.
Peter

It is not possible for that to get clogged as I have removed flame trap, so there is wide open passage fumes to go where they would like to go. When I disconnect breather pipe from top of carb it blows slowly smoke/steam so there is bit of pressure, also when I remove oil dipstick there clearly is bit of pressure, engine is bit worn, but starts really well.

I doubt that pressure would be still enough to cause such mess, but who knows.

Well, I then bought new car yesterday as I did need to go to work today, don't know how long this one will last and don't know when I will have time and money to get 360 in proper running order either.

A beer says they pushed the cam seal in too far, and it now leaks. Been there, done that....although I noticed....bloody garages ;)

cheers

When I find my 10mm socket I will have good look of that, it would be good if it is only cam seal as it won't need so much work as other two :?
