Clutch change on a 340

Right, clutch has basically gone on my 340. Need to get it back up and running as soon as. Anyone fancy writing be a beginners guide to changing a clutch. There is no way i can afford to get this done at a garage. I am not stupid, but have never done a clutch before. I have two good friends who are both mechanics so can ask for help if needed but would prefer to have a go myself. Any help would be appreciated. I have the new clutch just need instructions now.

If there is already a guide on here i apolagise but i couldn't find it. Thanks in advance

I'm sure in the general disscusion forum germ has written a fair bit about doing his clutch change. I would give a expination of how to but I do it very differently for a easy life by removing the engine rather than dropping the bell housing.

Probably best searching on redline as that is what germ has

its easy to do, if a little fidally, would take 2 hours if you have done it once before. a day should see it done if all is prepared etc.

He means he takes the whole engine out. That's a bit like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut IMO. Yes. it is a quite legitimate way to get the clutch out of a 360, but IMO for a 340 far easier to just do it the more 'traditional' way.

If you've not taken an engine out before, then follow Will (Germ's) method, although you can use the engine crane to jack the engine up and down to aid removal of the various bolts once you get to that stage.

by oil do u mean engine oil?, u dont have to change it if u do it my way

the clutch is cable operated, so no oil there, dont know what u mean.

No need to drain the oil regardless of how you do it.
