replacing driveshaft coupling

Post by baz » 04 Sep 2007 09:43 am

i've spent a bit of time checking over my latest car the 360 fixed most rattles and non working stuff but after reading the stories of driveshaft splines failing thought it would be a good idea and sure enough the driveshaft rear bolt was loose--might explain the noisy gearchanging-- now the clamp is tightened theres a loud ping sound at every gearchange so i'm thinking a replacement sleeve may be in order
I'm wanting to know if this can be done without removing torque tube, bellhousing etc as i'm planning a trip of more than 4000 km/s in a month and really dont want to chance it knowing the spline may let go
Apart from this one concern its a great little car now i've put new shocks,Pirellis, and wheel bearings
Despite nearly 300,000 km/s on the engine its used no oil in the 4000 km/s i've done since its arrival
