But when you think it's essentially two 1.5 engines stuck together (I know it's not really) I dont reckon it'd be much longer than a standard B200 lump. Move the battery, hook up a remote brake servo and I reckon it'd fit in easygriffo20022 wrote:I reckon it'd be a pretty easy swap providing you don't mind using the back seats to drive from lol, think the bulk head may need to be moved back a tad.

I do remember seeing the BMW V12 conversion pics soem time ago.
These kind of conversions are great for the strip but for a regular use car I thing you are much better of sticking with a 4 banger.
I'm always been asked about V8 conversions for the amazon and most would like to fit the rover lump. The good old B20 will make good power compared to the rover and a lot less haslle - easy engine conversisons are normaly the best. But on the other hand a challenge is always nice

True. And also true that B20 is underrated engine, many people have swapped in OHC engines because they want turbo, but 99% of these cases they would've been more than fine with the powerlevels they would have achieved with turbocharged B20.

I feel the old B20 revs better than the OHC redblocks. There are huge amounts of things you can do with a B18/20 but thats all another story.
The Problem with the B172 is there are very few tuning parts available and it tends to be cheaper to drop in a 16 valve lump if you have the skill.
