I would be tempted to look at other "tuner scene" type cars with comparable power as there are probably some second hand supra etc parts to be had

Chinese coolers have become very popular because of their price and what is surprising is that they work extremely well compared to the price and material and weld quality is also very good.

Check out my post about the chinese cores from here:

There are many sizes available. There are many for sale @ ebay but at least in here almost every speedshop has those in their catalogs too nowadays. Even many of the custom IC builders are also selling those because people have started to notice that those work very well too.

I've got one also it was a direct fit http://koti.mbnet.fi/mtn/images/autot/GLT/kuuleri/8.JPG
Vertically much larger IC would've fitted easily but then I would've had to get the end tanks rewelded because wanted to use the stock holes for the piping so I choose that one because it was enough for my current power levels. Of course the pipes can be routed elsewhere too.

Though nowadays there seems to be larger sizes which also have the inlets/outlets at the center of the core. For example this one is a bolt on for 300-series also.

There are many sizes available, this is a good page to check out different sizes.

Opel Frontera IC is also a direct fit for 300-series.
