Changing down to second whoas

Hey Guys,

A few times over the past week or so my car has lost power when changing down into 2nd, like when slowing down for a corner, its only ever lost power when changing down to second and as soon as you change to another gear it would have power again.

Now i was gonna get around to sorting this but as ive been all over the place lately i haven't had a chance, But the other day she went to far and when i changed down into second the engine just stopped, so i went to restart and she sounded like she wanted to start but just couldn't, i looked under the bonnet and everything seemed good so kept trying to start her and eventually she started but wouldn't idle and as soon i stopped revving she stopped and wouldn't start again.
About 15 minutes later she started and was fine. Ive drove her all day and had no problems.

Anyone got any ideas what could be wrong or about to go wrong??

Can't see how the gear should affect the engine like that, could it just be the deceleration, perhaps affecting the carburettor (like the fuel level in the float chamber?)

Just a guess...

Hey chris,
Whens a good time to come round, i maybe free tomorrow(tuesday) but need to ring up work first if not tomorrow i have a day off thursday either good for you?? you gotta try not to laugh at my car tho, as its mid lowering at the moment and has three different ride heights, looks a bit strange lol.
